2012-2013 Business Professionals of America,Idaho

Secondary Officer Team

Trevor Finch
President

I am Trevor Finch, the Idaho Business Professionals of America President. I attend Fruitland High School, in a small town of around 3,000 people, where I am currently in my junior year. Go Grizzlies!  I love school and the opportunity to be involved in so many different activities.  At school, I participate in Soccer, Golf, FFA, and Business Professionals of America.  I also enjoy serving in my community.  Currently, I serve on the Cicely Ambassador Team with Heart ‘n Home Hospice & Palliative Care.  This team is made up of juniors and seniors from four different high schools.  As a member of this team, I serve as a youth hospice volunteer where I visit a hospice patient weekly and participate in group service projects throughout the year.  I am also very involved in my church and have earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boys Scouts of America.

Business Professionals of America has affected my life in so many ways. It has helped me to step out of my comfort zone and has provided me many amazing leadership opportunities! Through participation in BPA and other student organizations it has allowed me to develop my talents through competitions and most importantly I have made many new friends throughout the great state of Idaho.

Throughout high school I have been employed in a variety of jobs such as officiating for our county recreation department, mowing lawns and currently I am also working for an eBay entrepreneur. In my free time I like to read and hang out with friends and family.  I am a big Harry Potter junky! I can quote it a ton and am a master at trivia. If you ever feel brave, I dare you to challenge me in it!

After graduation I plan to attend a semester of college, serve a full-time mission, and then study medicine. Eventually I plan to use the business skills I have gained in a medical practice. All the experience we gain from being a part of BPA can influence us for a positive future. I encourage you to make the most of your time in BPA, attend the state leadership conference and the national leadership conference, and run for an office. Let me hear from you if I can help you with BPA. I look forward to seeing you at SLC.

Cameron Arnzen
Secretary

I am Cameron Arnzen, Business Professionals of America’s Idaho Secretary. I am a senior at New Plymouth High School,  a 2A school located near the Idaho-Oregon border. So far I have LOVED my time as an officer, and I know that the next few months will be amazing! BPA wasn’t always a big deal to me. In fact, it wasn’t on my radar until my sister forced me to attend a regional conference my freshman year. Now BPA is a major part of my life. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to give back to BPA and all of its members.  I have served as a chapter officer as a freshman, sophomore, and as a junior. I enjoy competition, which is why I was first attracted to BPA. Freshman year I competed in Integrated Office and on a Presentation Management Team. I quickly learned that I would have to try harder next year due to the fact that I didn’t even make it out of regionals in either. Both sophomore year and junior year I qualified for nationals in Integrated Office. Last year I also participated in the Torch Awards program, and I loved every bit of it. I would definitely encourage you all to start yours as well. Outside of BPA, I am a runner. I participate in both cross country and track. I hurdle in track; as for Cross Country, I would prefer to just leave it at “I run cross country!” While BPA is my main focus, I also find time to be involved in New Plymouth’s Idaho Drug Free Youth, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Student Council, Law Team, and finally Drama Club. I really enjoy being involved.  Hopefully this creates some common ground between us.

So far, my future plan is to attend the College of Idaho next fall. I hope to study political science, theatre, and, of course, business. While planning my future, I am mainly focusing on my senior year, and helping make BPA the best it can be.  If you have any questions at all feel free to email me. Remember: we are here to help you! Even if you just want to get to know me; that is all right too! Good luck this year in all of your endeavors. I can’t wait to see you all at SLC!

Dana Drecksel
Vice-President

I am Dana Drecksel, the Vice President of Idaho Business Professionals of America. I am a senior at Pocatello High School, and have been active in BPA since the ninth grade. I have  served as my local chapter’s historian, Vice President, and President, as well as Region 8’s Vice President. I have a dedicated passion for BPA, and truly believe that the organization is capable of shaping its members’ lives in a daring, beneficial way.

Besides BPA, my passions are volleyball, music, and community service. I have played varsity volleyball at Pocatello High School for three years, and spend many hours in the gym working on my game. I have taken vocal lessons since I was four years old, and have performed solos in nine languages throughout my career. Additionally, I take great pleasure from serving my community and Church. I am very excited to serve you as the Idaho BPA Vice President, so please feel free to contact me regarding any questions you may have!

I would love to get to know you.

Hunter Deere
Parlimentarian/
Historian

Hello, I am Hunter Deere your Idaho Historian/Parliamentarian. I am a senior at Kuna High School, and I have been a member of Business Professionals of America for two years. When I joined BPA I was immediately enthralled at what the organization stood for and how much it could help me with my future. My team and I went to regionals in Boise and I competed in Small Business Management. I placed second and unfortunately didn’t make it to state, but I decided to go to state for a different reason. I wanted to become a state officer to show BPA what I had to offer. So I embarked on the journey of becoming a state officer, and now I am more joyous than ever that I earned the position that I did and that I can help Business Professions of America become a better organization, in my own way. I hope to be able to push the number of students we have in the organization to new heights and show that BPA is an organization for everyone, and that BPA can literally help you achieve any goal that you would like from becoming a business entrepreneur to a graphic designer. BPA has the objectives and competitions to make you succeed and become the best person you can be! I hope that I can accomplish this task in the next year and that we will have a great year together!  GO BPA!
